The role is situated in an outpatient clinic in Portsmouth, where you will work directly with patients in need of rehabilitation and pain management. • Conduct thorough evaluations of patients, including reviewing medical histories and performing targeted assessments to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Communicate evaluation results and treatment plans effectively to patients and their families, ensuring their involvement in the goal-setting process.
• Implement treatment protocols with proficiency based on assessment findings, patient presentations, and current healthcare standards.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient care and recognize necessary modifications to treatment plans based on patient progress.
• Document all patient care activities comprehensively and accurately, maintaining clear records of evaluations, treatment plans, and progress notes.
• Manage time efficiently to meet productivity benchmarks while ensuring patient schedules align with clinic operations.
• Engage actively in community marketing efforts to promote clinic services and improve patient access to care.
• Contribute towards departmental goals and compliance with regulatory standards, enhancing the overall workplace and clinical environment.
• Pursue ongoing education and self-improvement opportunities, and mentor students as clinical instructors to foster their growth.
• Enhance patient experiences by being adaptable and responsive to individual needs, supporting initiatives aimed at improving patient access to rehabilitation services.

The patients you'll be working with encompass a diverse range of conditions requiring both rehabilitation and preventive care. They may include individuals recovering from surgery, those with chronic pain issues, and athletes seeking performance enhancement. Your role will encompass identifying patient needs and developing personalized treatment strategies that integrate therapeutic exercises, manual therapy techniques, and education on injury prevention.

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia is mandatory.
• Current certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers from the American Heart Association.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with patients and the interdisciplinary team.

While prior experience is not required, candidates who have completed internships or clinical placements in outpatient settings will be viewed favorably. Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and outpatient management workflows can be an added advantage.
