About the Organization

At Lucas Chiropractic Center, we pride ourselves on being a community-centric provider of rehabilitation services. Our center is committed to delivering the highest quality care to individuals in Roanoke and the surrounding regions. We emphasize collaboration in a positive and inclusive workplace where our employees feel recognized and empowered. Our mission goes beyond improving patient health; we actively educate and mentor future healthcare providers, reflecting our commitment to advancing medical practices through innovation and research.

Work Environment

The Physical Therapist will work onsite at our dedicated rehabilitation facility, which is fully equipped with the latest therapeutic equipment and technologies to support various treatment modalities. Our environment fosters interdisciplinary collaboration, allowing therapists to consult regularly with physicians, chiropractic specialists, and other healthcare professionals, thereby enhancing patient outcomes. We focus on a holistic approach that integrates physical therapy with overall wellness, encouraging a supportive atmosphere for both staff and patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive evaluations of patients, reviewing medical histories, performing detailed assessments, and developing tailored treatment plans based on findings.
  • Communicate evaluation results and treatment strategies effectively to patients and their families, ensuring they are actively involved in the goal-setting process.
  • Implement and adjust treatment protocols, leveraging clinical best practices to address individual patient needs, and stay updated with the evolving healthcare landscape.
  • Document all patient care activities meticulously, including initial evaluations, daily progress notes, and follow-up care, maintaining compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Engage in continuous education, upholding a commitment to personal and professional growth within the field of physical therapy.
  • Participate in hospital and community marketing initiatives, contributing to disability awareness and access to care.
  • Manage time efficiently and adhere to productivity expectations while maintaining an organized schedule.
  • Contribute to departmental goals by taking part in strategy sessions and compliance audits as required.
Patient Population / Client Focus

This role will cater to a diverse patient demographic, ranging from post-operative rehabilitation to chronic pain management. Patients may also include athletes recovering from sports injuries, individuals rehabilitating from strokes, and older adults needing assistance with mobility. Our therapeutic approaches encompass a variety of techniques tailored to each patient's unique needs and goals.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy; a Doctorate in Physical Therapy is preferred.
  • Current state licensure to practice as a Physical Therapist in Virginia.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers by the American Heart Association.
  • A demonstrated commitment to enhancing patient care through continuing education and professional development.
Preferred Experience

While prior work experience in a clinical setting is not required, candidates with internships or relevant experience in outpatient rehabilitation facilities will be preferred, especially those with exposure to a multidisciplinary team approach.

Compensation and Benefits
