Job description

As a global leader in Stainless Steel, we're seeking a dynamic Lead Electrical Engineer and be part of our Melt Shop team in Calvert, Mobile County, Alabama.
Relocation assistance may be offered.
Objective: Lead Melt Shop Maintenance engineers, specialists, and electricians to perform all tasks related to maintaining the reliability and safety of the Melt Shop and associated equipment. Will be required to guide them to deliver creative solutions that deliver greater results than that of the standard engineering solutions. There will be time spent researching, and challenging your staff, vendors, and engineering firms to devise original concepts that transform the company to be an industry leader.
Requirements:
โ€ข Bachelor of Engineering degree with additional certifications or 10 years equivalent work experience
โ€ข Master of Engineering degree preferred.
โ€ข Experience with Electric Arc Furnaces, Switchgear, Power Distribution, Controls and Control Systems, especially Siemens and Allen-Bradley.
โ€ข Advanced Practical understanding of Electrical Drawings and Schematics, as well as related drawings such as Mechanical and Hydraulic.
โ€ข PMP/CAPM preferred
โ€ข Understanding of Reliability Centered Maintenance programs, has knowledge of predictive maintenance technologies, has an understanding of reliability and asset management
โ€ข Advanced troubleshooter of all equipment failures (such as variable frequency drives, motors, transformers, scales, temperature devices, etc.)
โ€ข Experience as a project managing, service engineer, or equipment designer is beneficial.
โ€ข Knowledge in multiple functional areas including engineering, operations, continuous improvement, project management, capital project, and project budgeting is beneficial.

โ€ข Ability to effectively communicate plans and new designs to management.
โ€ข Has the ability to develop creative solutions to improve asset performance.
โ€ข Problem-solving and decision-making skills pertaining to an industrial environment and engineering economics.
โ€ข Effective Leadership, communication skills, and has a drive for continuous improvement of themselves as well as others.
Key Responsibilities:
โ€ข Provides advice and counsel by utilizing knowledge of engineering design principles, practices, project management, and reliability practices.
โ€ข Suggests and implements innovative and cost-effective solutions to resolve maintenance/reliability issues.
โ€ข Develops and maintains working relationships with manufacturers, vendors, and consulting firms.
โ€ข Serves as project manager or the technical lead for continuous improvement projects and capex projects.
โ€ข Work with Reliability Engineers to develop long term plans (3-5 years) for capital improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and rebuilds of assets.
โ€ข Drives continuous improvement by utilizing Reliability and Maintenance best practices.
โ€ข Promotes world class maintenance manufacturing and understands that maintenance, operations, engineering, purchasing, and stores must work closely together to achieve success.
โ€ข Manages engineering resources to complete projects and supports the development of the engineering staff.
โ€ข Works with the Team to improve equipment reliability and equipment performance.
โ€ข Manages overall department projects and provides updates as requested.
โ€ข Works with the Engineering Team to ensure critical projects are completed in a timely manner and critical paths of projects and outages are met.
Physical requirements:
โ€ข Ability to utilize personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toes shoes, goggles, respirator, safety harness, safety line, flotation gear, etc.) safely per OSHA standards
โ€ข Must have the ability to climb in a safe manner (climbing as a minimum includes stairs and ramps) same as ability to walk long distances and demonstrate good balance on uneven terrain or maneuvering obstacles
โ€ข Ability to withstand exposure to elevated ambient temperature for extended periods of time
โ€ข Exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, vibrations, dust and asphalt
โ€ข Must be able to work in a high noise environment where the use of hearing protection is required
โ€ข Ability to frequently use hand or fingers to handle or feel objects/materials
โ€ข Ability to work in areas with strong magnetic fields
โ€ข Bend, twist, lift, stand, walk, reach, see, move, and hear as required by specific position
โ€ข Ability to frequently reach with hands and arms
โ€ข Must be able to communicate utilizing radios, phones and/or intercom systems
โ€ข Ability to perform physically demanding work including lifting and/or moving up to 50 lbs. utilizing proper lifting techniques
โ€ข Ability to safely use power and hand tools
โ€ข Ability to safely operate powered industrial vehicles and equipment for tasks and diagnostic purposes, including overhead cranes.
Salary Range: $106,100-145,900 plus monthly bonus.
