Outer Banks Forever, a not-for-profit partner of the three National Parks in the Outer Banks, is seeking a part-time seasonal Store Associate with a strong work ethic to support our retail store at Cape Hatteras in Buxton, NC! Season runs until November.

This is an hourly part-time seasonal position and the right candidate will need to be able to work weekends and holidays. The season runs from April - November.    

The Store Associate will provide an exceptional visitor experience through friendly and courteous customer engagement by communicating current sales offers and exhibiting exceptional customer service and selling techniques.

The right candidate will:

  1. Assistvisitors with product selection and offer complementary products.
  1. Operate cash register by processing appropriate tender and maintaining accurate cash register records.
  1. Provide Park information to visitorsofthe park.
  1. Maintain a safe and appealing store environment while supporting Outer Banks Forever mission.
  1. Restock the sales floor while following visual merchandising guidelines and help create visual displays. This includes lifting boxes weighing up to35 pounds to a shelf height of 5 feet and may require standing forlong periodsof time to include bending, squatting, and reaching.
  1. Participate in the inventory management process and spot check counts as directed by management.
  1. May open and close the store independently.


Our employees serve as ambassadors for the National Parks in OBX and will promote Outer Banks Forever's Mission. Outer Banks Forever is the educational branch of Eastern National, providing quality educational experiences to national park visitors through our park stores, interpretive services, and custom publications. Outer Banks Forever employees will educate visitors about the Outer Banks Forever partnership with the National Park Service.
