Job description

TPC Summerlin is a private par-72, 7,243-yard golf course located in Las Vegas, Nevada. Carved from a magnificent swath of rugged desert terrain by renowned golf course architect Bobby Weed, TPC Summerlin creates one of the most visually stunning tests of golf in Nevada.

The Application Technician is an entry level position being trained to perform all tasks relative to the application of pesticides and fertilizers to the golf course grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge of golf course operations practices and procedures as would be acquired through one to two years of similar golf course maintenance experience
  • Working knowledge of golf course operations and practices necessary. High school education or equivalent required
  • Valid Drivers License

RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES

  • Maintain logs for the operation, maintenance, and gas usage of each piece of equipment
  • Perform daily tasks necessary to keep the maintenance facility clean, organized and a safe working environment
  • Clean applications equipment after each use
  • Inspect all equipment and report any deficiencies to the Equipment Manager
  • Perform all functions relative to the applications activities as directed by the Director of Golf Course Maintenance Operations, Assistant Superintendent, Assistant Golf Course Superintendent I and II, or Application Foreman
  • Ensure that Personal Protective Equipment is worn as prescribed and required on the product label
  • Records and provides application details to supervisors for inclusion in product applications record system
  • Assists in maintaining all inventory levels in the maintenance record system
  • Keep all applications equipment properly calibrated and in good working condition
  • Follow all federal, state, and local regulations in regards to material use, storage, cleanup, disposal, spill containment, mixing and loading, application, and safety requirements. Follow all internal policies and procedures
  • Read, understand and interpret product labels, Material Safety Data Sheets for each product used in Golf Course Maintenance Operations
  • Special projects or other duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a variety of outdoor weather conditions. Position is very active and requires lifting, pulling or pushing up to or over 50 pounds, moving and/or lift items with awkward weights. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, color vision, distance and peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

An essential function of the job is to be able to comply with all applicable federal, state and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.
