Curiosity Guide Job Description

Wage: $13/hour

Shift: Part time. Morning and afternoon shifts. Minimum of 15 hours per week. May include Saturdays, holidays, and evening shifts.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in, prepare for, and lead educational programs in a variety of onsite, school outreach and community outreach settings.

  • Interact with and welcome program participants with confidence, compassion, and curiosity to ignite transformative learning and guide discovery.

  • Ensure classrooms are fun, inclusive, safe, orderly, and an environment that promotes learning and engagement.

  • Cultivate an environment where positive and meaningful experiences are abundant

  • Collaborate with other Learning and Engagement staff refine facilitated and unfacilitated education across and off property.

  • Evaluate and improve participant experiences.

  • Exemplify Thanksgiving Point’s Mission, Values and Policies with confidence, compassion, and curiosity

  • Other duties as assigned by manager/supervisor.

Requirements:

  • Experience teaching or facilitating in informal or formal environments

  • Able to work independently in a highly collaborative, noisy workplaces, with patience and professionalism at all times

  • Ability to give and receive constructive feedback with postivity.

  • Knowledge of how to work with learners of all ages and abilities is preferred.

  • Physical requirements include standing for extended periods of time, lifting up to 30 lbs., climbing stairs, giving verbal instructions in English, bending, and manipulating small objects.

  • Must be comfortable working indoors, outdoors, around animals, loud noises, and insects.

  • Valid Utah driver’s license preferred, must pass an MVR.

  • Ability to travel for several days preferred.

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.

  • Must pass a background check.
