Job title: Content amp; Social Media Coordinator
Reports to: Director of Marketing and Communications
Salary range: $48,000-$52,000
FLSA status: Exempt

Position Summary:
Working within the Marketing amp; Communications Department (MarCom), the Content amp; Social Media Coordinator will focus on the development and timely execution of the MarCom's storytelling needs using social media, video, and written stories. A key component to success in this role will be the candidate’s ability to identify and track stories within the organization and provide necessary assets (copy, photos, video, etc.) to share both internally and externally. Working with the Director of Marketing and Communications, this role will also implement the MD SPCA’s social media strategy through the timely development and scheduling of content.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Own the content creation process:
- Website
- Videos
- Assist in copywriting of the monthly e-newsletter
- Assist in copywriting of the print newsletter
- Helping to compose and edit direct marketing letters with the Development team
- Scheduling relevant content across social media accounts
- Engaging with users on social media platforms in a timely manner
- Identifying, sharing, and executing relevant social trends
- Analyzing content performance
- Track, record, and complete the storytelling for the pets amp; people of the MD SPCA
- Regularly update the MarCom's monthly content calendar
- Participate in regular meetings with stakeholders
- Commitment to the MD SPCA mission
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- BS/BA in marketing, communications, or related field preferred. Relevant experience considered.
- Minimum 1 year experience working within a Marketing Department (or similar)
- Prior experience as a Social Media Coordinator/Manager or similar role
- Knowledge of best practices for individual social media platforms
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to swiftly create content, both independently amp; as a team
- Prior experience using social media scheduling software (Meta Planner, Hootsuite, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience with copywriting
- Prior experience with Microsoft Office preferred
- Basic to intermediate production skills (audio, video, photography) preferred
- Prior experience using Monday.com (or similar project management software) preferred
- Prior experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Premiere, Photoshop, InDesign, etc.) preferred
- Comfortability with handling animals preferred
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged sitting, with some standing, walking, bending, and reaching
- Use of computer monitor, keyboard, and telephone
- Ability to lift 15lbs
Working Conditions:
- Potential for hybrid work schedule
- Work is frequently performed in an office setting within an animal shelter
- Occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends required
- Frequent exposure and handling of animals
- Exposure to high noise when in kennel area
- Occasional exposure to outdoor weather during certain fundraising and programmatic activities/events
- Occasional travel to offsite locations necessary
