Job description

General Philosophy
Under the guidance of the Residential Sales Manager, the Associate Territory Manager (ATM) plays a dual role: supporting the growth efforts of assigned Territory Managers (TMs), while also actively managing and selling to designated house accounts. This position is essential to driving revenue growth, improving market penetration, and building strong customer relationships for Temperature Systems, Inc. (TSI). The foundation of this role is built on integrity, trust, credibility, and a strong commitment to customer success.
Primary Objectives
  • Support assigned Territory Managers in developing a profitable customer base through strategic collaboration and joint selling efforts.
  • Independently manage and grow sales to house accounts, both through in-person visits and proactive outbound sales calls.
  • Provide support to TSI’s Inside Sales department during peak seasons, ensuring continuity and quality of service.
  • Meet or exceed personal and team sales and profitability goals as defined by TSI leadership.
Key Responsibilities1. Business Development amp; Sales (House Accounts)
  • Serve as the primary sales contact for assigned house accounts, ensuring consistent communication and a high level of service.
  • Drive sales through a combination of in-person customer visits and regular outbound sales calls, tailored to customer preferences and seasonal needs.
  • Build and execute account-specific business plans to maximize sales opportunities and product adoption.
  • Identify and pursue new growth opportunities within the assigned accounts.
2. Territory Manager Collaboration
  • Partner with Territory Managers to support strategic sales efforts, promotions, and dealer development.
  • Participate in joint customer visits and share feedback from house accounts to inform territory-level strategy.
  • Serve as a backup resource for TMs during absences or high-volume periods.
3. Inside Sales amp; Seasonal Support
  • Provide assistance to the Inside Sales team during peak seasons, including quoting, order entry, and product inquiries.
  • Ensure timely and professional handling of customer requests through phone, email, or digital platforms.
  • Help maintain a seamless customer experience between outside and inside sales functions.
4. Product Expertise
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all TSI product lines and related applications.
  • Offer technical guidance and application support to customers and internal teams.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitive products to advise on positioning and strategies.
5. Sales Enablement amp; Program Utilization
  • Promote and utilize all TSI and supplier sales programs, marketing tools, and incentive campaigns.
  • Support customers with tools like eCommerce, co-op funds, and training opportunities.
  • Use CRM and quoting systems to manage customer activity and provide timely follow-up.
6. Professionalism amp; Representation
  • Represent TSI with professionalism in all settings — including customer visits, meetings, and dealer functions.
  • Respond to all communications from customers and internal teams within 24 hours.
  • Maintain a high level of responsiveness and reliability in all aspects of the role.
Skills amp; Qualifications
  • 1–3 years of HVAC sales, inside sales, or technical experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and sales skills, with comfort selling both in person and over the phone.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and follow-up abilities.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and quoting tools.
  • Collaborative and flexible team player with the ability to adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Willingness to travel locally for customer visits and dealer support.
