Job description

GENERAL PURPOSE

The Logistics Support Specialist (LSS) serves as the central point of contact for customers, carriers, drivers and warehouse teams - facilitating clear communication regarding products, orders and shipments. This role is responsible for resolving issues promptly and ensuring a high level of satisfaction across all stakeholders. The LSS collaborates closely with sales, customer service, and operations teams to process orders accurately and support overall account management.

SCHEDULE:Monday - Friday, 1:30pm - 10:00pm

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform daily and ad-hoc tasks of a standard to moderately difficult nature, including high-level administrative tasks, customer service, purchasing, reporting, and supporting daily operational activities.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to customers inquires via phone, email, or through internal systems.
  • Process orders, coordinate shipping logistics, and ensure the accuracy and timeliness of incoming and outgoing orders. Track shipment details, locations, and estimated times of arrival.
  • Check in drivers upon arrival at the facility and ensure all protocols and safety procedures are clearly communicated and followed.
  • Generate outbound Bills of Lading and maintain proper documentation for all shipments to support compliance and traceability. Walk outside office, to industrial parking lot, regularly to verify outbound trailer temperatures, and seal outbound loads.
  • Prepare purchase orders. Order shipping materials and supplies, track and maintain supply inventory, to ensure continuous operations.
  • Accurately and efficiently enter customer orders into warehouse order entry system (Sage X3). This role requires frequent use of 10-key data entry to ensure speed and precision in handling orders details.
  • Update information in the system, on spreadsheets and in physical files to maintain records.
  • Assist with miscellaneous intercompany and vendor billing; troubleshoot and resolve basic issues; and complete, verify, review, and reconcile paperwork and documentation.
  • Produce standard operational reports and create dock schedules to support efficient warehouse and transportation activities.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a logistics, customer service, transportation, warehouse, distribution, or related environment.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Proficiency and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems
    • Microsoft Excel experience particularly preferred
  • Able to work with accuracy and detail oriented
  • Able to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Able to interact positively and work effectively with others (interpersonal skills
  • Able to anticipate and recommend needed changes
  • Able to independently gather data, compile information, and prepare reports
