Job description

The Distribution Center Loaders are responsible for efficiently loading and unloading products into and from dry van trailers including flatbeds. Prior forklift experience or ability to operate a forklift in a safe and efficient manner is required.
Pay Range: $17.00 to $19.00 per hour
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Loading & unloading of trailers, including flatbeds
  2. Maintain proper trailer weight distribution while maximizing trailer cubes/space
  3. Perform piece counts to verify accuracy
  4. Scan merchandise into inventory using scanning equipment.
  5. Scan product and pallets to truck Id's in an accurate manner.
  6. Print price tags and price merchandise accordingly.
  7. Break down merchandise into smaller quantities for shipping to retail locations.
  8. Assist with floor loaded shipments, both inbound and outbound.
  9. Responsible for accurate allocation of quantities.
  10. Submit packing slips and freight bills as necessary.
  11. Cross check quantities to packing slip, making necessary notations when needed.
  12. Load merchandise onto proper pallet, shrink wrap when necessary.
  13. Properly secure shipments to prevent product and trailer damage.
  14. Practice safety in the workplace by using safe work habits with a safety-first mindset.
OTHER DUTIES
  1. Other duties as assigned for facility operation and deadline needs.
  2. May require travel to assist in other facilities or training.
MENTAL AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  1. Computer skills required.
  2. Forklift experience required.
  3. Frequent lifting up to 50 pounds
  4. Long periods of standing & sitting
  5. Frequent bending and twisting
EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
  1. High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  2. Prior warehouse experience preferred.
  3. Prior Forklift experience required.
  4. 1 year prior shipping and receiving experience preferred.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT AND CONDITIONS
  1. Distribution Center environment
  2. Cold and warm dock conditions
