Job description

Description:

Position Summary

Hotel Savoy, a 120-room boutique hotel in downtown Kansas City and part of Hilton’s Tapestry Collection, is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Sales Manager. This role is responsible for generating group and business-transient revenue through proactive prospecting, account development, contract negotiation, and exceptional client service.

Reporting to the Director of Sales, the Sales Manager will manage assigned market segments and accounts while identifying new opportunities that grow room nights, revenue, and market share. The ideal candidate is organized, results-oriented, comfortable with outbound sales, and able to represent the Hotel Savoy experience with professionalism and authenticity.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Proactively solicit, develop, and maintain accounts within assigned market segments to meet or exceed room revenue, production, and sales activity goals.
  • Conduct targeted outbound prospecting through calls, emails, appointments, site visits, networking, and sales blitzes.
  • Manage and grow business-transient, local negotiated rate, group, and other assigned business opportunities.
  • Respond to inquiries and leads promptly, preparing accurate proposals, contracts, and supporting documentation.
  • Build strong, long-term relationships with clients, meeting planners, corporate contacts, and community partners.
  • Conduct hotel tours, site inspections, client meetings, and hosted events to showcase Hotel Savoy and secure new business.
  • Monitor account production, competitive activity, and market trends; identify opportunities and respond to negative trends with focused sales strategies.
  • Maintain accurate account notes, production data, activities, and pipeline information within required sales and CRM systems.
  • Prepare regular activity, forecast, and pipeline reports for the Director of Sales.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Sales, revenue management, front office, food and beverage, and operations teams to ensure a seamless guest and client experience.
  • Attend and actively participate in daily and weekly sales meetings, hotel leadership meetings, professional organizations, and required hotel functions.
  • Serve as Manager on Duty and provide weekend or Saturday office coverage when scheduled.
  • Represent Hotel Savoy and Avion Hospitality in a professional, attentive, friendly, and service-oriented manner at all times.
  • Follow all hotel, Hilton, and Avion Hospitality policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Sales or General Manager.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; college coursework or degree in hospitality, business, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Previous hotel sales, hospitality sales, group sales, or business development experience preferred.
  • Experience selling within a boutique, lifestyle, full-service, or upscale hotel environment is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to prospect for new business, manage accounts, negotiate contracts, and close sales.
  • Strong written, verbal, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to organize competing priorities, manage deadlines, and follow through on client commitments.
  • Comfortable working with sales systems, CRM platforms, Microsoft Office, and hotel technology.
  • Ability to interpret production reports, revenue information, and market data to guide sales activity.
  • Must be able to work independently while collaborating effectively with a cross-functional hotel team.
  • Must maintain composure, sound judgment, and a positive, solution-focused approach in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
Physical & Scheduling Requirements

This is a management-level position that requires flexibility based on business needs. The Sales Manager is expected to work the time necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of the role, including occasional evenings, weekends, client events, and travel within the local market.
