About the team:
The Outbound Referrals team at Morgan & Morgan is responsible for sending leads that are not handled internally to outside law firms. Our national brand and advertising return our firm cases across a variety of practice areas and jurisdictions that we refer out to the nation's top law firms for various reasons.
Even though we have an army of lawyers across the nation, we have many cases other law firms can better handle. This role aims to ensure that the people we cannot help get the best legal representation possible with a law firm we know and trust and monitor for results.
About the role:
The Referral Manager will work closely with referral partner law firms throughout the U.S. to monitor and oversee current relationships with these law firms and lawyers and regularly develop new referral relationships with new referral partners.
This includes monitoring individual cases handled by referral partners, the daily flow of leads to various referral partners, tracking metrics on overall signups and results by referral partners, and assessing areas of improvement by using data and analytics to feed decision making.
Once identified, the Relationship Manager is expected to own relationships with current, successful referral partner firms and continuously expand and refine the network in their designated geographical area or nationwide area of law.
Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated, highly independent, technologically competent, resourceful individual with exceptional people skills and who presents themselves professionally.
  • Meet with and develop ongoing, constructive relationships with all current and prospective referral partners
  • Assess current gaps or areas for improvement, and develop new relationships with potential new referral partners
  • Build and maintain weekly and monthly progress reports to present to internal stakeholders
  • Interact regularly with attorneys, case staff, and intake teams at partner law firms to optimize results for clients
  • Interact from time to time with attorneys and call center teams at Morgan & Morgan to optimize referral process
  • Understand and keep up to date with industry and competitive landscape knowledge
  • Consistently beat financial expectations and goals
  • Travel occasionally to visit referral partners at their office. Travel expenses are reimbursed by the firm.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 3+ years of Business Development or Account Management Experience; OR law school graduate from an ABA accredited law school (one or the other, both not necessary)
  • Effective communicator with a strong phone/Zoom presence and the ability to proficiently engage with other professionals through disciplined outbound call activity and email
  • Ability to learn and master new technologies quickly to develop a comprehensive knowledge of the company's business model in order to answer all related inquiries
  • Ability to harness qualitative and quantitative data to inform decision making
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
