Job description

Coil Processing Specialist | Windsor, CO | $17.00 - $20.00 / hour

Essential Functions & Job Responsibilities:
  • Load and unload material into and out of machines, including adjusting material as needed.
  • Contribute to the efficient production of steel products that meet customer specifications.
  • Perform in-process inspection of materials and maintain high quality output standards.
  • Package finished goods for customer delivery or floor stock, including palletizing and banding when requested.
  • Maintain a clean work area and follow proper housekeeping practices.
  • Perform duties in a safe and efficient manner, including wearing appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Report all accidents, incidents, and unsafe acts or conditions immediately.
Required Skills & Abilities:
  • Able to read and comprehend work orders, instructions, and safety and procedural manuals.
  • Ability to understand written and verbal communication in the English language.
  • Ability to use and interpret tape measurer and other measuring instruments as required.
  • Ability to drive a forklift and operate an overhead crane (company will train and certify).
Physical Demands & Work Environment:
  • Carrying up to 50 pounds at waist level for a distance no greater than 5 feet on a semi-frequent basis.
  • Must be able to bend, squat, and/or crouch down using knee and hip movement frequently.
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to push and pull weight of up to 30 pounds at chest level.
  • Utilize manual dexterity of arms, elbows, wrists, and fingers.
  • Ability to visually interpret multiple shades of colors as well as hear, speak, and interpret sounds.
  • Work may be performed near moderate to continuous loud noise.
