Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Medical ICU position requiring 2+ years of MICU experience and Epic proficiency at a teaching hospital.

Details
  • Work in the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) of a hospital environment
  • Day/Night rotation schedule (3x12 hours), rotating every 4 weeks between days (7:00-19:00) and nights (19:30-7:30)
  • 36 hours per week
  • Every other weekend required
  • No on-call responsibilities
  • Floating required within OSU
Requirements
  • Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
  • Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
  • Minimum 2 years of MICU experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
  • Skills required: respiratory/thoracic care, care of ventilated patients, ventilator management, continuous IV sedation, cardiac monitoring and emergency response, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, and management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
  • 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a Manager/Director or Supervisor and the second from a Charge RN or higher; coworker references not accepted
Additional Information
  • Provide direct patient care to critically ill medical ICU patients, including ventilator management and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Candidates must complete Ohio fingerprinting promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines
  • First-time travelers are welcome to apply
  • Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
  • Current OSU hospital employees are not eligible for travel assignments at any OSU hospital location
