Work hands-on with top orthodontic technology, including 3D scanners, intraoral cameras, and digital X-ray systems. You will assist directly in bracket placement, archwire changes, adjustments, appliance deliveries, and diagnostic record taking.

Job Description

Overview: Our private orthodontic practice in Windermere, FL is seeking an experienced, energetic, and professional Orthodontic Assistant who loves working with patients and delivering outstanding patient care.
Key Responsibilities: Assist the orthodontist with bracket placement, archwire changes, adjustments, appliance delivery, and orthodontic procedures. Prepare treatment areas, follow sterilization protocols, and maintain stocked workspaces.
Technical Duties: Take high-quality digital X-rays, photos, 3D scans, and orthodontic records using intraoral cameras and digital X-ray equipment. Accurately document treatment in electronic patient records.
Patient Support: Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene, appliance care, elastics, and retainers while maintaining an efficient patient flow. Help with scheduling and practice needs as required.

Salary Range

Full-time $21 - $26 per hour

Requirements

  • Infection Control License
  • X-ray / Radiography Certification

Experience: Minimum 2 years of orthodontic assisting experience required.
Certifications: Must hold a current X-ray certification and Expanded Functions certification.
Clinical Skills: Strong chairside orthodontic assisting skills with knowledge of sterilization, infection control, dental terminology, anatomy, and orthodontic procedures.
Technology Skills: Comfortable using digital orthodontic technology and electronic patient records.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, customer service, organizational, and time management skills with strong attention to detail and ability to take initiative.
