Job description

Locum Orthodontist

RSMC is seeking a Locum Orthodontist for an 8โ€“12-week assignment with the client. This role focuses on high-quality orthodontic care for children, with strong team support and predictable patient flow.

Position Highlights

  • 8โ€“12-week locum contract starting mid-January
  • 4-day workweek (consistent schedule)
  • Daily rate: $1,400โ€“$1,800/day
  • Local Maryland providers only (travel/lodging not provided)
  • Mileage reimbursement
  • Patient load: 50โ€“60 total patients/day for 3 dentists
  • Expected: 1โ€“2 ortho starts per day

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide diagnosis and comprehensive orthodontic treatment plans
  • Deliver high-quality orthodontic care using accepted clinical techniques
  • Support children and their parents in developing strong oral health habits
  • Lead and collaborate with an engaged orthodontic clinical team
  • Refer patients to dental specialists when appropriate
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and patient-focused environment
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, ADA, Dental Board, and all regulatory standards

Requirements

  • Passion for improving children's oral health
  • Active Maryland dental license (pending accepted if close to issuance)
  • Board-eligible or certified by the American Board of Orthodontics (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional communication
  • Organized and clinically knowledgeable in orthodontics
  • Ability to commit to 4 days/week for the full 8โ€“12 week duration
