Job description

Experienced Orthodontic Assistant needed for part time or full time work.
An upbeat Orthodontics practice in Houston is seeking an experienced Orthodontics Assistant willing to work two to four days a week. Spanish a must.
Must have RDA license
The job description is laid out below.
Essential Functions:
Provides outstanding customer service with patient as #1 priority; partnering with staff, successfully resolves patient complaints, concerns and questions in a timely manner.
Fully assists Orthodontist in the process of treating patients.
Takes x-rays.
Records patients’ medical history; takes blood pressure and pulse as needed.
Helps patients feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
Provides patients with instructions for oral care following appointments and procedures
Teaches patients appropriate oral hygiene strategies to improve or maintain oral health
Performs operatory set up and break down
Sterilizes instruments
Effectively understands and utilizes company dental software, HRIS, applicable Microsoft Suite applications and other internet vehicles as necessary
Understands company’s timekeeping system and enters hours worked and PTO appropriately and timely; gains pre-approval from Office Manager for overtime; notifies Office Manager immediately of discrepancy in hours paid through payroll
Completes continuing education as required by office; monitors expiration of certifications making sure not to allow them to expire
Maintains facilities and equipment in accordance with hygiene and safety regulations including OSHA; follow required OSHA and Workers’ Compensation safety procedures and processes as necessary
Nonessential Functions:
Performs additional tasks as necessary or assigned to achieve office/company goals
