Job description

Orlin & Cohen Orthopedic Group - Northwell Health is the premier and fastest-growing orthopedic practice on Long Island, providing comprehensive care that helps thousands of our neighbors and community members live more active lives, free from pain. Orlin & Cohen is one of the largest orthopedics practices in the region, with over 20 offices located in Nassau and Suffolk Counties, Queens, and Staten Island, we have been in business for 30 years. 

Job Responsibility:

  • Plan, prepare, or carry out individually designed programs of physical treatment to maintain, improve, or restore physical functioning, alleviate pain, or prevent physical dysfunction in patients.
  • Perform and document an initial exam, evaluating data to identify problems and determine a diagnosis prior to intervention.
  • Examine patients to assess general physical condition.
  • Record prognosis, treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart or enter information into computer.
  • Instruct patient and family in treatment procedures to be continued at home.
  • Evaluate effects of treatment at various stages and adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
  • Proficiency in using an electronic medical record system (EMR).
  • Assist and care for others, providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support to colleagues and patients.
  • Other office and record keeping related duties as required.
  • Varying shifts between the following hours: Monday-Thursday 7a-7p, Friday 7a-7p. NO WEEKEND REQUIREMEMT. 

Job Qualification:

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree in physical therapy from an accredited educational program from the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education required. Master's/Doctorate Degree, preferred
  • Must have valid Physical Therapy license or must have valid permit and become licensed and registered within one year of employment
  • Other related certifications
  • Minimum two years of physical therapy experience, preferred
