As an ORISE research fellow, you may engage in a broad range of projects, often focused on public health, environmental science, or data analysis, depending on the sponsoring agency. Fellows usually work closely with a mentor or team and are expected to take initiative in managing day-to-day tasks, while also collaborating with experienced scientists. What are ORISE fellowships?

ORISE (Oak Ridge Institute for Science and Education) fellowships are research and training opportunities offered by the U.S. Department of Energy and other federal agencies.
