Job description

Job Purpose

The Warehouse Team Lead manages and supports daily warehouse operations, including receiving, loading, and picking. This role ensures customer orders are processed accurately and on time, while also handling communication with other departments, vendors, and customers. The position is responsible for keeping shipping and receiving records up to date, resolving any issues that come up, and maintaining good customer relationships. It also involves organizing paperwork, entering data, and helping schedule freight to keep warehouse activities running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

               Generate all related paperwork required for customer order, checking for special requests

•             Coordinate urgent shipping requests with operations, expediting orders as necessary

•             Follow up with other departments to ensure the service standards are being met

•             Provide shipping and tracking information as required

CUSTOMER INTERFACING ACTIVITIES

•             Maintain a good relationship with customers via timely responses concerning receipts, shipments, inventory counts, etc.

•             Report customer feedback to management, including any signs of customer dissatisfaction

CLERICAL/DATA ENTRY

•             Oversee all paperwork associated with orders and maintain the corresponding file

•             Answer phone calls and operate various office machines and computers proficiently

•             Enter and verify data regarding customer orders, billing, credits, shipments, receipts, physical inventories, and adjustments in a timely manner

INBOUND/OUTBOUND FREIGHT

•             In conjunction with management, schedule inbound and outbound freight to comply with warehouse operations and capacities

DOCUMENTATION

•             Ensure the accuracy of all receiving and shipping documents

•             Gather and maintain all data and records relative to shipping and receiving activities

•             Assist in resolving any discrepancies

•             Collect all documentation for inbound freight and route to the proper record-keeping unit

•             Comply with all work instructions

Maintains quality service by following Growscapes' company-wide standards; maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping bin locations, pallet area, and workstations neat and free of debris and trash; maintaining clean shipping supply area; complies with company procedures, rules, and regulations

  • Education:

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Experience:

    •             Microsoft platform experience preferred

    •             Minimum of 12 months cumulative experience in a Warehouse/Distribution environment preferred

    •             Minimum of 12 months cumulative experience with Reach Truck and/or Tow Motor preferred

    •             Experience in RF Scan Guns and Warehouse Management Computer Software

    Skills:

    •             The ability to work independently and as part of the team

    •             Excellent communications, organizational, planning, documentation, reporting, and time management skills

    •             Excellent Attendance

    Physical Requirements:

    •             The ability to lift 50 lbs and to stand, bend, stretch, sit and reach continuously throughout the shift

    •             Tolerance for changing warehouse conditions due to weather (extreme heat or cold)
