Job Description

Duties and responsibilities may vary with company requirements and specific project and client requirements. However, in general, performs such typical duties as: coordinating regional/area efforts with Area Manager to achieve both corporate and regional/area goals. Promoting the company in various market segments, through participation in trade shows, conventions, and other AEC associations and engagements, etc.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists in the development of a five-year business plan for his/her region/area;
  • Supports in the development a Fiscal Year Plan for his/her region/area;
  • Supports in the development of a five-year strategic plan for market segment team(s) identifying opportunities within his/her region/area;
  • Establishes/updates hit list, participates in the Go/No-go proposal process, identifies team composition, determines joint venture and/or subconsultant participation, develops the fee proposal; and, Establishing/updating prospect list, conducting hit list research, developing relationships, champions/supports efforts for developing proposals and interview preparation.
  • May provide supervision and direction to regional/area support staff when assigned to business development and marketing tasks. May supervise corporate marketing-related support staff in coordination with the business Development Director, as directed.
  • Involvement in strategic planning, business development (pre-RFP), and marketing (post-RFP).

Minimum Qualifications:

Knowledge of: The CM industry in his/her area. Generally accepted principles of strategic planning, marketing, and business development (pre-RFP), and marketing (post-RFP) in the public sector. Vanir’s business, policies, procedures, programs, and capabilities. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Excellent writing and oral communication skills. Effective time management skills.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Communications, or a technical field related to construction (MBA desired), plus six to eight years of experience with two years in Business Development / Marketing Coordinator-related position; or
  • Associate’s Degree, plus eight to ten years of related experience
  • Professional certification as a Certified Professional Services Marketer (CPSM) is beneficial
