Job Description
* CONTINGENT UPON AWARD *
The Training Specialist supports U.S. Navy and DoD programs, delivering training solutions that ensure workforce readiness during organizational change, system deployments, and transformation initiatives. This role is responsible for conducting training needs analyses, designing curricula and learning materials, and coordinating delivery across virtual, in-person, and e-learning formats. The Training Specialist also assesses training effectiveness and prepares personnel for operational and mission-aligned transitions.
The ideal candidate brings experience supporting change initiatives, partnering with leadership, and developing training for complex technical or organizational changes in secure environments.
Training Needs Analysis
Conduct comprehensive training needs assessments based on organizational role, mission impact, and change scope.
Identify skill gaps and readiness needs across military, civilian, and contractor populations.
Translate change impacts into targeted learning requirements, curricula, and training plans.
Partner with change management and organizational design teams to align training with new processes, structures, and system capabilities.
Instructional Design & Content Development
Design and develop training curricula, instructor-led training (ILT), virtual instructor-led training (vILT), e-learning modules, job aids, quick reference guides, and role-based learning paths.
Update or adapt existing training materials to reflect new policies, processes, systems, or organizational structures.
Ensure training content adheres to DoD, Navy, and program-specific requirements, including classification markings, security protocols, and accessibility standards.
Apply adult learning principles and instructional system design (ISD) methodologies to create engaging, mission-relevant content.
Training Delivery & Coordination
Coordinate and support training delivery in both classified and unclassified environments, including ILT, vILT, e-learning, blended learning, and recorded sessions.
Schedule training events, manage logistics, and coordinate with instructors, SMEs, and security personnel.
Facilitate training sessions when required, demonstrating subject-matter familiarity and strong presentation skills.
Maintain training documentation, attendance records, rosters, and version control in accordance with program requirements.
Requirements:
Active Secret Clearance / US Citizen
Bachelor's degree
At least +8 years experience in organizational change management
At least +5 years in training delivery
Work with Navy programs, strongly preferred
Change Management certification, preferred
Estimated Annualized Salary: $150-$165K
