The RoleThe Director of Executive Operations serves as a strategic partner to the CEO, supporting the execution of organizational priorities, facilitating cross-functional alignment, and ensuring the effective operation of executive leadership and governance functions. This role combines executive support, project management, and organizational coordination, while acting as a trusted proxy for the CEO in select meetings and initiatives.
The Director plays a critical role in driving strategic initiatives forward, managing high-priority projects, and ensuring clear communication and accountability across the organization. This position also serves as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors, ensuring governance processes are executed in alignment with regulatory, legal, and organizational standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Executive Support
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO, supporting the execution of key initiatives and organizational priorities.
  • Act as a proxy for the CEO in select meetings, representing leadership priorities and ensuring follow-through on action items.
  • Manage and prioritize the CEO's calendar with a focus on strategic alignment and organizational impact.
  • Prepare briefings, reports, presentations, and correspondence for executive-level meetings and decision-making.
  • Track and monitor strategic priorities, ensuring accountability, progress, and timely follow-up.
  • Facilitate internal leadership meetings, including agenda development, documentation of key decisions, and tracking deliverables.
  • Exercise independent judgment in managing competing priorities and escalating issues as appropriate.

Project Management & Organizational Coordination
  • Lead and coordinate cross-functional projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of the CEO.
  • Establish project timelines, milestones, and accountability structures to ensure successful execution.
  • Monitor progress across departments, identify risks or barriers, and proactively recommend solutions.
  • Partner with department leaders to ensure alignment with organizational goals and priorities.
  • Support change management efforts by coordinating communication, tracking implementation, and ensuring consistency across teams.
  • Drive follow-through on key initiatives, ensuring decisions translate into action.

Board Governance & Executive Liaison
  • Serve as the primary liaison to the Board of Directors and Board Committees.
  • Coordinate all aspects of board and committee meetings, including scheduling, agenda development, preparation and distribution of materials, and documentation of meeting minutes.
  • Maintain governance records and documentation in compliance with corporate, legal, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support the onboarding and orientation of new board members.
  • Partner with the CEO and leadership team to ensure timely and accurate board communications and reporting.
  • Assist in preparation for audits, accreditations, and regulatory reviews as related to governance.

Administrative & Operational Leadership Support
  • Provide high-level administrative support to the CEO, including managing complex scheduling, coordinating travel, and handling sensitive information with discretion.
  • Maintain organized systems for executive and board documentation (digital and physical).
  • Support planning and execution of leadership retreats, community events, and stakeholder engagements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support organizational initiatives and special projects.
  • Ensure efficient communication flow between the CEO, leadership team, and key stakeholders.

Position Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Communications, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience supporting senior executives, preferably in healthcare, nonprofit, or senior living environments.
  • Demonstrated experience in project management, strategic coordination, or operations support.
  • Strong understanding of board governance practices; knowledge of California RCFE/Title 22 regulations preferred.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Proven ability to exercise independent judgment, discretion, and sound decision-making.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Zoom, and board management platforms.

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting and standing.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, and kneel as necessary.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and push/pull up to 30 lbs.

Compensation and Benefits:
Enso Village is committed to equal pay and transparency. The annual base salary range for this position is $104,000-$140,000. This range provided as a general guideline and compensation decisions are dependent on a variety of factors, including candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, external non-profit market data, and business considerations.
