Job Summary

RAWSO Constructors is seeking a knowledgeable and experienced Material Processing Foreman/Operator to manage and operate mobile aggregate processing equipment at construction sites. This position is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient operation of mobile screening, sizing, and processing equipment, coordinating material production to meet project specifications, and serving as the primary point of contact between field crews and project supervisors.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy civil construction and aggregate production, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to direct the work of others while making sound, timely decisions. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, organization, and productivity. Due to the physical demands of the position, candidates must be able to work in all weather conditions and lift up to 50 pounds.


Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure all safety rules and regulations are followed at all job sites.
  • Operate and supervise mobile aggregate processing equipment, including screening, sizing, and support machinery.
  • Monitor material quality and production rates to ensure compliance with project specifications and schedules.
  • Develop work schedules based on staffing availability, project needs, and labor requirements.
  • Coordinate daily activities and adjust plans as needed due to weather, supply chain issues, and personnel changes.
  • Delegate responsibilities and tasks to crew members and subcontractors.
  • Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and manage team members.
  • Ensure adequate resources and staffing levels are maintained to meet project requirements.
  • Promote and enforce safe equipment operation, including proper use of safety gear and procedures.
  • Conduct routine inspections and coordinate preventative maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Develop and maintain quality standards across all project sites.
  • Monitor project budgets and material production costs.
  • Resolve on-site conflicts and operational issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Prepare and submit reports on production data, material yields, and project status to supervisors, engineers, and stakeholders.


Qualifications

  • Knowledge of standard construction equipment and materials.
  • High school diploma or certification in a skilled trade (heavy equipment operation, diesel mechanics, or related field preferred).
  • Extensive knowledge of construction best practices, equipment maintenance, safe operation procedures, and OSHA regulations.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, drawings, and blueprints and communicate information effectively to team members.
  • Experience with aggregate gradation standards and material specifications (TDOT or similar DOT specifications preferred).
  • Strong organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and reporting skills.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
  • Physical stamina and endurance required for outdoor construction work.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
