Job description

The Inside Sales Specialist, located in Omaha, serves as support to the sales growth through customer account management, order processing, lead generation, and collaboration with Territory Managers and cross-functional teams. The role acts as a trusted REI brand ambassador by building strong customer relationships, maintaining accurate sales data, and ensuring outstanding customer experience from initial contact through post-sale support.

Essential Functions include the following:

  • Respond to inbound customer calls and inquiries by providing product information, processing sales orders and quotes, as needed
  • Verifies orders are processed and shipped
  • Provide ongoing account management and customer support to existing accounts while building and maintaining positive customer relationships
  • Ensures that customer information is updated in the Customer Relationship Management System
  • Schedule and coordinate installation appointments in collaboration with customers and installation teams. Ensure all necessary resources and documentation are prepared
  • Manage the Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) process by coordinating product returns with customers and internal departments while maintaining complete and accurate documentation
  • Maintains a strong internal and external customer orientation by being a REI brand ambassador
  • Assist in maintaining and updating the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and ensuring accurate customer records and sales data.
  • Assist in onboard new customers up to and including Vendor Management System (VMS) training and follow up calls to ensure customer satisfaction
  • Conducts outbound sales calls to:

o Prospect for new customers

o Update customers on new products

o Set up and conduct webinars

o Arrange for customer visits by Territory Managers

o Ensures that customer information is updated in the CRM

  • Partner with Territory Managers on pre and post trip outreach to customers
  • Support ISO quality initiatives by actively obtaining and documenting Customer Satisfaction Surveys in accordance with company procedures
  • Research, gather, and maintain market intelligence for verticals and territories in regards but not limited to; competitors, brands and offerings
  • Partner with Territory Managers to prep trip proposals and expense reports
  • Other duties as assigned

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours of work are expected to align with REI's normal business hours, Monday-Friday, required availability on the weekends and infrequent travel, including potential overnight travel as needed to support tradeshows.

Required Education and Experience to perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, or a related field preferred

Minimum of 2 years of sales experience required previous sales support experience is strongly preferred

Experience with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software is preferred

Strong communication, coordination, analytical, and attention-to-detail skills are required. The ability to multitask and work effectively in a fast-paced environment is essential

Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. A concentration in marketing, communications, journalism or advertising preferred

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced spreadsheet management skills in Microsoft Excel

Strong knowledge of PC applications, including Microsoft Office, is essential. Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Professional and CRM software is beneficial. Experience with e-blast platforms and website content management is preferred

Must be a self-starter with excellent organizational and time management skills.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents and forms; write professional business correspondence; and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the general public

Travel

This position may include infrequent travel, including potential overnight travel as needed to support trade shows.
