Job Summary:

Responsible for triage and delivery of samples to designated lab areas. Ensures proper splitting, handling and storage of samples. Verifies, logs in, and documents all required information is provided and correct. Documents discrepancies. Assembles datapacks and assigns bar code labels.

Essential Duties:

Triage

  • Receive all incoming shipments
  • Separate out supplies from samples
  • Identify boxes that cannot be opened and damaged boxes
  • Wear appropriate PPE and follow safety guidelines.
  • Carefully open boxes without damaging samples
  • Ensure sample submission form is included and signed
  • Assign priority number(s) to box(es) according to the sample submission form and current Log In priority list

Delivery:

  • Match and organize samples and datapacks for delivery
  • Ensure timely delivery of all temperature sensitive samples
  • Track all deliveries
  • Deliver to the correct storage condition location in each lab

Log In:

  • Carefully remove samples from outer shipping boxes
  • Verify all information on the submission form against the samples
  • Handle all samples appropriately for each test requested
  • Properly package samples for delivery to lab to prevent damage
  • Split samples and paperwork appropriately for each test request
  • Identify discrepancies and follow correct procedure for documentation
  • Attach bar code labels to all applicable paperwork and samples
  • Complete forms and use appropriate required stamps.

Regulatory Compliance

  • Know and follow applicable regulatory requirements (GMP, GLP, ISO, etc.).
  • Know and follow company policies and procedures.
  • Complete required training on time.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a laboratory and warehouse type environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, keyboards, computer mouse, tablets, telephones, photocopiers, and scanners.

  • PPE required daily including lab coat, safety glasses, socks, closed toed shoes. Gloves and masks occasionally.
  • May occasionally work in temperatures above 95 degrees and below 32 degrees.
  • May occasionally walk on slippery or uneven surfaces.
  • May climb ladders and work off of elevated dock area.

Physical requirements:

  • Must be able to move/traverse 90% of the day and remain in a stationary sitting/standing position at a desk while using a computer, keyboard, computer mouse and phone 10% of the day.
  • This position moves or lifts items greater than 45lbs on a daily basis.
  • Wear personal protective equipment such as lab coats, safety glasses, socks and closed toed shoes, gloves, facemasks.
  • Bending, stooping and crouching.
  • Climb up and down ladder.
  • Able to manipulate small hand tools occasionally.
