Job Summary

The Picker is responsible for accurately preparing customer orders for delivery, using voice pick systems or scan guns to locate and pick products from warehouse shelves. They ensure product rotation, wrap and stage orders for transport, and maintain a clean, organized warehouse while adhering to all safety rules and completing necessary training. While this summary provides the basic duties of this position, warehouse employees may be asked to cross-train and assist in other areas.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Prepare customer orders for delivery by accurately locating and picking products from warehouse shelves.
  • Use company voice pick system or scan gun to pick orders and verify pre-stage pallets from Tygard for non-Softeon warehouses.
  • Replenish pick areas by looking up SKU inventory and ensuring product rotation meets company standards.
  • Wrap individual orders for transport and stage them for verification by the order auditor.
  • Conduct required equipment inspections prior to use and follow all company safety rules.
  • Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, working to minimize breakage and repack damaged products.
  • Fill orders based on Softeon system instructions and access order details using handheld scanners.
  • Fix incorrect pallets as needed and prepare pallets with shrink wrap for transport.
  • Complete assigned training, seminars, and classes, and assist in other areas as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring overall efficiency of all warehouse operations.
  • Crosstrain in other areas of warehouse operation and warehouse responsibilities as needed.

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Proficiency in using warehouse management systems and handheld scanning devices, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication skills and basic math skills, with the ability to read and interpret documents in English.
  • Willingness to follow safety protocols, complete required training, and pass a pre-employment drug test and background check

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Exposure to frequent sitting. May have to lift up to 50 pounds.
