Job description

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking an Intermediate / Senior Analyst / Engineer in Huntsville Alabama to perform real world data analysis and system performance assessment for current and emerging space-based sensors. This position supports Missile Defense Agency Space Sensors (MDA/SS) Program Office and Space Systems Command (SSC) initiatives, including Discriminating Space Sensor (DSS), OPIR Modeling and Analysis Center (OMAC), and other Space Surveillance Fire Control efforts. The role will also contribute to analysis and tool development for emerging sensor technologies, including event-based sensing.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Analyze system / algorithm performance to support risk reduction for future on-orbit demonstrations of sensor systems
  • Conduct orbital analysis for assessing constellation access / coverage
  • Analyze composite background / target scenes for various orbital parameters, acquisition geometries, and sensor characteristics
  • Analyze end-to-end signal processing chain elements, to include performance assessments of sensitivity, detection, and quality of track service in various clutter environments
  • Perform multi-sensor tracking analysis for potential incorporation into ground system
  • Perform analysis of prototype and operational sensor data / algorithms for assessment of missile defense operational suitability
  • Incorporate modeling phenomenology to include aerospace / mechanical engineering, signature physics (blackbody radiation), radiometry, heat transfer / thermal analysis
  • Develop and analyze missile system kinematic / radiometric models

Requirements:
  • Current Secret security clearance required, with eligibility for TS-SCI
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Understanding of EO/IR phenomenology, passive sensor data collection and performance
  • Strong problem solving and communication skills, with ability of working in team environment

Desired:
  • Experience in scientific programming (i.e. MATLAB, C++,)
  • Understanding of advanced image processing and tracking algorithms
  • Experience with guidance navigation control (GNC) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
  • Familiarity of AI techniques for modeling missile systems and performance

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Physics, Engineering or Applied Mathematics (Master's degree desired)
