Job description

Every system we build helps connect people to education, healthcare, opportunity, and each other.
As a Satellite Communication (SATCOM) System Engineer, you will be responsible for Customer Terminal (CT) architecture, integration and validation with hardware, software, and firmware

You will work in a collaborative environment with a multi-disciplinary team including electrical hardware, antenna, simulation, silicon, algorithm, firmware, and software engineers.
Key job responsibilities
In this role, your responsibilities include:
Develop the CT architecture by working closely with sub-system engineers in electrical, RF, antenna, thermal, modem, DSP, ASIC, algorithm, firmware, modeling, and software
Develop the validation plans, build the validation infrastructure, execute testing, analyze data, and report the results to the stakeholders
Investigate and resolve validation failures by leading cross-functional teams
Ensure the delivered work meets technical, functional, performance, regulatory, and business requirements
Perform in-field and on-orbit validation with satellites
Travel up to 10% of the time, depending on project phases
Export Control Requirement:
Due to applicable export control laws and regulations, candidates must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S

permanent resident (i.e., current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
A day in the life
As a SATCOM System Engineer on the Amazon Leo Customer Terminal Team, you will work daily with electrical hardware, RF, antenna, silicon, and product design engineers, as well as software and operations teams in a collaborative environment. Your focus will be on architecting, integrating, and verifying customer terminal functional performance to ensure it delights our customers.
About the team
The Leo Customer Terminal team is responsible for developing both outdoor & indoor devices, enabling customers internet service via the Leo satellite network

We own the entire process from early prototypes through mass production including requirements documents, architecture definition, hardware development, and all integration/verification testing.
