Summary - Full-time faculty position in the Department of Specialty Dentistry, responsible for development and implementation of the predoctoral curriculum in oral and maxillofacial radiology. Contributes to the teaching, research, and service missions of the department and the college. Faculty rank, as well as determination of tenure/tenure-track or non-tenure track appointment status, will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Principal Functional Responsibilities - Teaching: Responsible for development and delivery of the oral and maxillofacial radiology (OMR) curriculum for dental students in the DDS program, including development and implementation of courses and student assessments for classroom, preclinical simulation, and clinical instruction in oral and maxillofacial radiology across the DDS curriculum. Direct didactic, preclinical, and clinical teaching.

Research: Participate in scholarly activities and/or research as appropriate.

Service: Active participation on college and university committees will be required and assigned. In addition, membership and participation in state and national professional dental organizations is strongly encouraged.

Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by the department Chair.

Qualifications - DDS/DMD degree or equivalent. Certificate of advanced education in oral and maxillofacial radiology from a CODA-accredited oral and maxillofacial radiology residency program. Must be eligible to obtain a Dentist License or a Limited Dental Teaching License in the state of Ohio at the time of appointment.

Preferred Qualifications - Board Certification: Eligible for Board certification by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology. Teaching Experience and Expertise: Dental educator with didactic, preclinical, and clinical teaching experience. Experience in curriculum and course development and teaching at the predoctoral level. Interested in educational innovation and up to date on contemporary educational approaches. Contemporary Digital Technologies: Knowledge/experience with contemporary digital dentistry technologies and workflows. Research and Scholarship: Interest in or track record of research/scholarship and potential to contribute to the research program of the college and university. Collaborative: Can work collaboratively with administrators, faculty, staff, and students at the college and the university. Humanistic Environment: Committed to building a humanistic culture/climate within the college and to fostering student success.

Physical Requirements - Must be able to utilize a phone, computer and other office equipment.
