Position Overview
Theย Oral Health Educatorย will play a pivotal role in promotingย oralย health awareness across diverse settings, including skilled nursing facilities, schools, and early learning centers. This position focuses on equipping Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), school nurses, educators, and families with the practical skills needed to improve preventiveย oralย care and long-term health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Education & Training: Develop and conduct tailored workshops for healthcare staff (CNAs, school nurses) and community partners regardingย oralย health best practices.
Resource Development: Create accessible, culturally appropriate educational materials, including digital content, guides, checklists, and videos.
Strategic Collaboration: Work with facility leadership and administrators to integrateย oral health educationย into existing patient care protocols and school health programs.
Outreach & Advocacy: Participate in health fairs, community events, and public health campaigns to expandย oralย health awareness for vulnerable populations.
Program Management: Assist with grant proposals, budget tracking, data collection, and reporting to monitor the efficacy of educational initiatives.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelorโs degree in Dental Hygiene, Public Health, Education, or a related field (Required).
Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience deliveringย health educationย or training programs in school, healthcare, or community settings.
Technical Knowledge: 2+ years of experience withย oralย hygiene practices, common dental conditions, and preventive care strategies.
Communication: Exceptional ability to present complex information clearly to diverse audiences, including healthcare teams, families, and administrators.
Desired Skills: Proficiency in data management/analysis, prior experience with grant writing, and a formal certification inย oral health education.
