Position: Senior Oracle 11g/12c Spatial DBA
Location: Lansing, MI
Duration: 12 months
Skills Required
Experience with Oracle Spatial
Provide support for growing Oracle Spatial needs, including installation, tuning and trouble shooting
Assist in the implementation of Oracle Statewide Standards
Experience with Oracle 11g , 12c
Working knowledge of DDL, DML, PL/SQL, stored procedures, triggers, views, constraints and cursors
Proficiency with Oracle performance tuning
Proficiency with database backup and recovery using Oracle RMAN.....
Ability to analyze and design physical databases and their definitions
Experience with disaster recovery planning and testing
Experience with installation, configuration and upgrades of vendor-supplied software, including contacting vendor on enhancements and problems.
Strong problem solving and conceptual thinking abilities
Excellent written/verbal communication and documentation skills
Able to work independently and deliver high quality results when given a set of requirements
Experience with Oracle on Solaris
Skills Preferred
Experience managing databases up to 10+ TB
Knowledge of Shell Scripting
Knowledge of EMC and NetApp SAN hardware
Knowledge/Experience with database appliances
Data guard, compression, backup tools.
Experience Required
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science or Computer Systems Engineering; or a Bachelor's degree in a related field appropriate for the assignment plus five years of experience.
1+ years' experience with spatial models and algorithms
2-4 years Oracle Spatial programming experience
3-7 years Oracle SQL and PL/SQL programming experience
