Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle DBA with deep expertise in Oracle database administration and strong working knowledge of DB2 and MongoDB. This role is responsible for managing mission-critical, high-availability database environments across on-premises and cloud platforms.
The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on experience in HA/DR, performance tuning, backup & recovery, security hardening, and enterprise database monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
Oracle Database Administration (Primary Focus)
  • Administer and support Oracle 11g/12c (legacy) and 19c/21c (primary production) environments.
  • Manage high availability solutions including RAC, Data Guard (Physical & Logical), Active Data Guard, and GoldenGate.
  • Perform advanced backup and recovery operations using RMAN, Flashback technologies, and PITR.
  • Lead performance tuning initiatives using AWR, ADDM, ASH, SQL Tuning Advisor, and execution plan analysis.
  • Manage Multitenant architecture (CDB/PDB), ASM, Grid Infrastructure, and Oracle Net Services.
  • Implement database security controls including TDE, Database Vault, Audit Vault, and encryption standards.
  • Support partitioning strategies (Range, List, Hash, Composite).
  • Perform patching, upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning.
Secondary Database Support
  • Provide intermediate support for IBM DB2 (LUW 10.5/11.x) including HADR, backup/recovery, RUNSTATS, REORG, and performance monitoring.
  • Support MongoDB environments including replica sets, indexing strategies, backup methods, and basic sharding concepts.
  • Basic administrative exposure to Sybase ASE environments.
Infrastructure & Platform Support
  • Support database platforms across Linux (RHEL/Oracle Linux), Unix, and Windows Server environments.
  • Work with enterprise monitoring tools such as OEM Cloud Control, Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, ELK, and AppDynamics.
  • Coordinate with infrastructure and application teams for production deployments and incident resolution.
Security & Compliance
  • Ensure database environments meet enterprise security and compliance standards.
  • Lead vulnerability remediation and database hardening efforts.
  • Support disaster recovery and business continuity initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle DBA in enterprise environments.
  • Strong expertise in RAC, Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, PL/SQL, and performance tuning.
  • Experience supporting multi-terabyte, high-volume transactional databases.
  • Hands-on experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
  • Working knowledge of DB2 (HADR, backup/recovery).
  • Exposure to MongoDB administration and monitoring.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Ability to operate independently in complex production environments.
Preferred Qualifications
