Oracle EBS Finance Consultant/Contractor

Location: Hybrid / Folsom, CA
Position Description
The Oracle EBS Finance Consultant/Contractor will provide senior-level functional and technical expertise supporting the Finance application portfolio, with a primary focus on Oracle E-Business Suite Financials and related business systems. This role requires a highly experienced, self-directed professional who can effectively partner with Finance and IT stakeholders to understand business objectives, define solution requirements, recommend improvements, and lead successful delivery of system enhancements and support activities.
 
The consultant will serve as both a trusted advisor and hands-on contributor, leveraging deep Oracle EBS Financials, Procurement, and Projects expertise to analyze complex business and technical challenges, design and implement solutions, support production operations, and drive continuous process improvements. The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong planning, communication, and leadership skills who can independently manage work priorities, facilitate discussions, influence outcomes, and deliver results with minimal direction.
 
This engagement is intended to provide specialized Oracle EBS expertise, strengthen support for critical Finance systems, and ensure successful execution of enhancement initiatives, operational support, and knowledge transfer activities.
 
Position Requirements – Oracle EBS Finance Consultant / Contractor
 
Oracle EBS Functional Expertise
  • Demonstrate strong business process knowledge and expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite, including Financials, Procurement, and Projects, with hands-on experience configuring EBS modules and functionality to align with business needs.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational objectives, define solution requirements, evaluate options, recommend improvements, and lead solution delivery activities.
  • Maintain current working knowledge of assigned Oracle EBS product areas, related technologies, and internally developed or homegrown solutions necessary to support the engagement.
  • Learn, comprehend, and support internally developed applications, integrations, extensions, and related business processes.
 
Technical Development & Solution Delivery
  • Apply expert-level SQL and PL/SQL skills to support development, reporting, troubleshooting, data analysis, and system enhancements.
  • Utilize Oracle development tools, including Oracle Forms, Reports, OAF, BI Publisher, Workflow, and related Oracle EBS technologies.
  • Design, build, develop, modify, and implement technical solutions that support business requirements, system enhancements, production fixes, and operational needs.
  • Deliver assigned work products within agreed scope, timelines, quality expectations, and engagement priorities.
 
Production Support & Problem Resolution
Analyze and resolve complex system issues as part of the ERP development, enhancement, and production support process.
Independently manage assigned production support issues, including troubleshooting, prioritization, resolution, communication, and escalation when appropriate.
Provide support during planned releases, testing cycles, production deployments, and critical issue resolution, as needed and within the agreed engagement scope.
 
Business Partnership & Leadership
Collaborate effectively with business users, IT teams, technical resources, and cross-functional stakeholders while demonstrating strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
Plan, lead, and actively participate in design discussions, process definition, configuration, testing, defect resolution, and deployment support for relevant modules and functionality.
Communicate project status, risks, blockers, dependencies, and issue resolution progress clearly and timely to business and IT stakeholders.
 
Documentation & Knowledge Transfer
Document technical designs, configurations, troubleshooting steps, support procedures, issue resolutions, and knowledge transfer materials.
Support knowledge transfer to internal staff to ensure continuity of support after the contractor engagement concludes.
 
Governance, Compliance & Security
Follow established IT governance, change management, release management, security, access control, and production support processes.
Protect confidential, financial, system, and business-sensitive information in accordance with company policies and access requirements.
