You work with Real App clusters. You build on and improve IPsoft's cutting-edge Autonomics Platform by writing DB automation for Capacity Reviews and Incident Management.

As an IPsoft Oracle Database Engineer, you are a client-facing, self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic Enterprise environment. By automating the mundane chores, you are free to focus on higher-level tasks and innovations. With every sip of complimentary coffee and every ticket worked, you are living the engineer's dream.

  • In a Typical Day, you will:
  • Contribute to Database design and implementation
  • Install, configure, and upgrade database server software and related products
  • Perform Database and Performance Tuning and Capacity reviews
  • Establish and maintain sound backup and recovery policies and procedures
  • Plan, Schedule, and Execute Changes in UAT, PROD in Close Coordination with Clients
  • Setup and maintain documentation and standards
  • Perform DB Health Check
  • Migrate Data using export/import Data 
  • Tablespace, Segment, Disk Storage Management and Management of backup failures for DB and Archive Logs
  • Understand Different errors and impact from Alert Log, Listener Log, Cluster Logs
  • Ability to import data from flat files using SQL Loader
Qualifications
  • At least 3+ experience with Administering Oracle Databases on RAC and Data Guard
  • Familiarity with the UNIX operating system. Specifically Sun Solaris or Linux.
  • Interface with Oracle Corporation for technical support.
  • Client relationship management
  • Project planning at both the technical and executive levels

Rockstar (Preferred) Qualifications in addition to those required:

  • Oracle certifications: Oracle Certified Professional (OCP), Oracle Certified Master (OCM)
  • Basic Understanding of other databases: Oracle, DB2, SQL, Sybase, Progress, Postgres, MySQL and/or Ingress
  • Experience in a managed service provider (MSP)
  • Experience working with off-site colleagues
