POSITION: Oracle Database Administrator (DBA)

LOCATION:  Reston, Virginia
 
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team. The Oracle DBA will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of our Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in database management and be able to manage the database lifecycle, including the installation, configuration, upgrade, and monitoring of Oracle databases.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Install, configure, and upgrade Oracle database software.
Perform database tuning, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal database performance.
Manage database security by implementing and maintaining database roles, privileges, and user accounts.
Perform regular database backups and recovery operations to ensure data integrity and availability.
Implement and maintain database disaster recovery plans and procedures.
Collaborate with development and operations teams to ensure database changes align with business requirements.
Monitor and manage database storage, ensuring efficient utilization and forecasting future capacity needs.
Ensure compliance with database-related policies, procedures, and best practices.
Perform database patching and apply updates as needed to maintain database security and functionality.
Provide support for database-related issues, including after-hours support as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Proven experience as an Oracle DBA, with a deep understanding of Oracle database architecture, processes, and performance tuning.
Experience with Oracle 19c and related tools and technologies.
Strong knowledge of database security, backup/recovery techniques, and disaster recovery planning.
Proficiency in SQL and PL/SQL scripting.
Experience with Linux and Unix operating systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong communication skills to interact with various stakeholders and document processes.
