Job Summary

The Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC) Developer I is a key member of the Business Intelligence Competency Center (BICC), responsible for ensuring the effective use of business intelligence (BI) tools and practices across the organization. Reporting to the BICC Manager, this role will assist in implementing BI strategies, standards, and procedures to deliver maximum value to the business. The position involves designing and developing data models and infrastructure in various BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI), Oracle BI Publisher), building and maintaining Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes using Power Query, Structured Query Language (SQL), and other ETL tools, and developing and maintaining BI applications and tools to ensure regular reporting. The developer will gather reporting and analytical requirements from stakeholders, maintain standardizations in BI platforms, and work in a sprint agile environment. Additionally, the role focuses on ensuring data security and compliance, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and engaging with stakeholders to deliver comprehensive dataset solutions and analytical dashboards through various BI tools including Power BI, Oracle Fusion, OTBI, Essbase, Oracle BI Publisher, and Microsoft Fabric.

Essential Job Functions *

  1. Collaborate with cross-functional teams and analysts to gather and understand business requirements, ensuring alignment between the business and BICC.
  2. Develop and deliver enterprise and ad hoc Business Intelligence solutions, utilizing SQL, Server Views, Power Query, Power BI, Excel, and other approved tools to extract, transform, and load (ETL) data and drive business success.
  3. Design and develop data models and datasets from diverse sources such as APIs, SQL, Microsoft Excel, SharePoint, ERPs, Data Warehouses, Oracle Fusion, CRMs, WM, and PKMS, requiring a complex knowledge of each system and ability to work with IT and stakeholders to extract appropriate data for KPIs and reporting needs.
  4. Support the BICC Manager in maintaining the governance structure for BI and analytical programs, projects, practices, software, and architecture through following best practices and industry guidelines and through the development of critical reporting used for leadership KPIs and critical decision making.
  5. Maintain data governance standardizations in business intelligence platforms while working in a sprint agile environment, ensuring that security and Data Governance best practices are applied.
  6. Ensure daily runs, scheduling, and upkeep of reporting datasets in various Business Intelligence platforms, including Power BI, Oracle, and any other business intelligence platform required by the organization.
  7. Engage with stakeholders to ensure comprehensive dataset solutions and effective communication, leveraging BI tools such as Power BI, Oracle Fusion, OTBI, Essbase, and Microsoft Fabric to deliver analytical dashboards and Business Intelligence solutions.

Education:

  • Practical experience with BI tools and environments, including SQL, Power Query, Power BI, Oracle Transactional Business Intelligence (OTBI), and other relevant platforms.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate, Certified Business Intelligence Professional (CBIP), or other recognized BI certifications are highly desirable.
