An OR RN opportunity is available in Kansas City, MO at a 585+ bed hospital featuring a Level I Trauma Center, a Primary Stroke Center, a Chest Pain Center, and a Breast Care Center, among other specialty services.
The role. The OR RN collaborates as an integral member of an interdisciplinary surgical team — including surgeons, surgical technologists, and other providers — to deliver safe, patient-centered care throughout the perioperative process. Prior to surgery, the nurse evaluates patients, provides education to patients and families about the procedure and perioperative experience, and assumes responsibility for preparation including intravenous therapy, preoperative medications, and surgical site verification. Intraoperatively, the nurse participates in briefing, time out, debriefing, and universal protocol processes in accordance with hospital policy, while applying critical thinking, scientific judgment, and technical skills to assess and monitor patient condition and respond to emergencies. Scheduling is self-directed and posted four weeks in advance, and on-call is required during select non-business hours.
What we're looking for.
- 1+ years of recent OR RN experience (Scrub/Circulating experience in the OR)
- Registered Nurse Diploma
- (RN) Registered Nurse
- Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
Schedule. Days (7:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.) or Nights (7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.).
Compensation. $34.00 - $48.00/hr
