Halberstadt's Men's Clothiers has been a midwest institution in the world of menswear for over 75 years. We are a full-service men's specialty store specializing in suiting, formalwear, and casualwear across a variety of pricepoints. Our mission is to provide a highly personalized, service-oriented and unstuffy shopping experience to the men of Iowa now and for years to come.

About the Role: We are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented and efficient tailor to handle basic men's suiting alterations for our new location in Coralville. Whether you prefer to work in-house as an employee or as an independent contractor working out of your own home, we offer flexible arrangements to accommodate the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform precise alterations on men's tailored clothing, including suits, sport coats, trousers, and dress shirts.

  • Execute common adjustments such as hemming, taking in or letting out waists, jacket side adjustments, and adjusting sleeve lengths.

  • Maintain reliable and consistent turnaround times for our clients.

Requirements:

  • Proven proficient experience in menswear tailoring and alterations.

  • A keen eye for detail and a strong understanding of traditional garment construction.

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

  • If working from home: Must possess your own professional sewing equipment and have a reliable method for picking up and dropping off garments at our store locations.
