Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operate and perform setup of complex components on 3,4 and potentially 5 axis machines
  • Generate/update setup instructions for operators, using Microsoft Office
  • Ensure that Operator has all information/skills needed to run parts
  • Check with operator that parts are machined to print
  • Measuring critical dimensions using common measuring tools
  • Ability to open and edit Mastercam programs
  • Analyze existing CNC programs logically and suggest/implement improvements
  • Proof out new CNC programs
  • Create and edit G&M codes on the machine controller if necessary
  • Follow instructions to run measuring program on Vision/CMM machine
  • Assist shop lead when ensuring all machine shop employees are trained
  • Work with shop lead to ensure a safe and clean environment for all employees
  • Keep work environment clean and organized
  • Occasionally operate manual mill/lathe

Requirements

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

  • Great Attitude
  • Able to work well with others
  • Reliable and on time
  • Great attention to detail
  • Ability to stand or sit for up to 8hrs
  • Can lift 50 pounds
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend English, schematics and machine shop terms
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience with measuring tools such as micrometer, caliper, indicator etc.
  • Follows instructions well, ability to lead operators

Desired skills and experience:

  • SolidWorks CAD experience
  • Able to create and verify new CNC programs in Mastercam
  • MillTurn experience with Mazak Integrex
  • Familiar with Esprit TNG Mill or MillTurn
  • Renishaw probing in machine
