Job description

Overview
Demonstrable ability with sense of motivation operate all equipment in the assigned production unit. Monitor and ensure overall production and relatable movement with adherence to safety, compliance, and efficiency standards. Builds Assembly equipment/Compression tunnels as needed. Performs set-ups, adjustments, preventative maintenance and repairs on assigned equipment. Ensures optimal production and quality output of assigned equipment. Trouble shoot operational challenges and provide back-up as needed. Please note, the shift hours will be Monday - Friday
Responsibilities
  • Ensure on-time start-up and optimal performance of machinery.
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plan for and take corrective action. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Fabricate parts for new & existing equipment, assemble automated systems from individual parts and subassemblies.
  • Test equipment to check operation. Clear jams and set aside product for inspection and/or rework. Test equipment after repairs, changeovers or extended down time.
  • Check product for visual defects.
  • Make preventative maintenance checks and inspection of assigned equipment ensuring safety and optimum performance. Report findings to supervisor/engineering and take appropriate action.
  • Notify production and engineering of recurring problems, equipment malfunctions and supplies needed. Take related corrective actions
  • Interface with Supervisor on special projects.
  • Follow all safety procedures and use necessary personal protective equipment. Ensure that all work meets regulatory requirements (OSHA).
  • Observe "Lockout/Tagout" procedures while working on equipment.
  • Cognitive and demonstrative organizational capabilities.
  • Assist in quality control and preventative measures with active participation in (SQDIP) Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory and Production.
  • Understand the product flow and processing systems as well as know the whereabouts of all storage areas.
  • Identify all raw materials and finished goods.
  • Understand material handling tasks with ability to learn Con-Air products.
  • Perform daily maintenance and upkeep of forklift equipment.
  • Perform duties safely and report all observed safety hazards to the supervisor. Conduct self accordingly regarding PPE, performance, attitude, and involvement.
  • Ability to communicate written and verbally with pleasant interpersonal skills that must be sufficient to perform the essential functions of the position in a safe manner.
  • Participate and actively cultivate an environment of Production "Team" across all shifts.
  • Participate in training new Production personnel on proper use of machines, equipment, safety requirements, and product quality standards.
  • Ensure that materials and labor are utilized effectively and efficiently to achieve optimal production.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required by Con-Air designated Leadership.
  • Maintain a safe, neat and organized production area where everyone will perform safely.
  • Be punctual and present to work daily, ability to work overtime as requested
  • Experienced technician with mechanical and electrical experience. Typically, two to three years of industrial maintenance experience.
  • Demonstrates experienced knowledge of electricity.
  • Experienced to advanced knowledge of Volt/Ohm Meter and Amp Meter.
  • Experienced to advanced knowledge of AC/DC circuits.
  • Experienced to advanced knowledge of Electrical safety.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and understand how to use them to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical control circuits.
  • Understanding of 208 & 480v 3 phase, and how to troubleshoot.
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot various types of motors and replace.
  • Basic understanding of PLC systems and basic troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrates experienced knowledge of mechanical Techniques.
  • Ability to diagnose bearings/repair with little to no assistance.
  • Ability to diagnose/repair sprocket and chains with little to no assistance.
  • Basic fabrication skills.
  • Basic to advanced ARC, MIG and or TIG welding.
  • Basic sheet metal, metal angle and metal tube(square and round) fabrication.
  • Ability to troubleshoot pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to trouble shoot hydraulic systems.
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Technician
  • Associates Degree Applied Science Industrial Maintenance Technology
  • Manufacturing experience
  • Strong math aptitude
  • Able to set up, operate and maintain equipment
  • Computer literacy
  • Strong PLC experience required

While performing the essential functions of this job frequently required to reach, grasp, stand and/or stand for long periods of time (up to 90% of the shift), walk, talk and hear; required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Working Environment:

This is an Industrial Manufacturing work environment where it is hot and employees are often exposed to loud sounds and distracting noise levels. Employee are exposed to hazardous equipment daily and are required to wear mandatory PPE.
