Job description

  • Supervise the physical construction of projects in accordance with contract documents, building codes, and compliance requirements
  • Work with the Project Manager to document and maintain reports for delays, work-arounds, shutdowns, and tie-ins
  • Resolve personnel disputes on the jobsite and lead and inspire teams
  • Maintain relationships with customers, subcontractors, vendors, Project Managers, Superintendents, and field labor
  • Provide quality assurance/control for MSS-related scope and schedule
  • Attend all inspections and project meetings
  • Manage and provide feedback on the MSS tool tracking program
  • Forecast and manage labor and equipment levels
  • Organize the labor force to complete jobs on time and within budget
  • Read complex blueprints and equipment installation manuals
  • Solve complex job-related problems and bring solutions to the Project Team or Field Ops Manager
  • Liaise with client representatives
  • Track project progress and report weekly to the Field Ops Manager and Project Managers
  • Manage project safety and assist the safety manager in maintaining a safe work environment
  • Coordinate and communicate daily job operations with project managers
  • Manage subcontractors, vendors, and labor while controlling work accuracy and quality
  • Identify and report problems or deficiencies to the Project Manager
  • Document on-site activities that may impede progress or compliance
  • Interview and select field staff for the jobsite
  • Perform safety talks and maintain check-in sheets
  • Conduct performance reviews for project employees
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Company
Requirements
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with construction experience as a Lead Superintendent
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel, Word, and Project
  • Knowledge of all phases of construction
  • Experience and proficiency in all divisions of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control of project scope
  • Strong technical and communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency and understanding of site logistics and contract operations on tight urban sites
  • Thorough understanding of and ability to maintain a current, complete set of project documents, blueprints, revisions, specifications and related items
  • Ability to multitask and juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience accessing, reading, and completing installation of systems from a BIM coordinated project
  • Ability to work with a variety of tools
  • Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
  • Must successfully pass a background check and drug test
  • Must have OSHA 30 certification
  • Bachelor's degree or completion of a technical training program (or equivalent) preferred
  • Ability to meet the stated physical demands, including occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. and material handling up to 115 lbs.
  • Ability to work in the stated environment, including exposure to weather, extreme temperatures, high noise, electrical shock, toxic or caustic chemicals, wet/humid conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, and elevated work areas
