Job description

Position Summary

We are seeking professional and highly motivated Armed Security Officer to join our security team in Reno, Nevada. The Officer is responsible for protecting personnel, property, facilities, and sensitive information while maintaining a safe and secure environment. This role requires excellent judgment, strong observational skills, and the ability to respond effectively to emergencies while providing exceptional customer service.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Protect personnel, facilities, property, and sensitive information.
  • Conduct interior and exterior foot and vehicle patrols.
  • Monitor CCTV, alarm, and access control systems.
  • Control access by verifying identification and authorizing entry.
  • Enforce site policies, security procedures, and post orders.
  • Respond to security incidents, alarms, emergencies, and medical situations.
  • Investigate suspicious activity and document findings.
  • Complete accurate daily activity logs and incident reports.
  • Assist visitors and provide directions or general assistance.
  • Maintain key control and access credentials.
  • Secure buildings and restricted areas during opening and closing procedures.
  • Coordinate with local law enforcement, fire, and emergency personnel when necessary.
  • Deter theft, vandalism, trespassing, and unauthorized access.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and provide excellent customer service at all times.
Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 2 years of security, military, or law enforcement experience preferred.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Valid Nevada Driver's License or ability to obtain one if required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English proficiently.
  • Proficient in report writing and basic computer applications.
  • Ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior military service (Honorable Discharge preferred).
  • Previous law enforcement experience.
  • Experience working in critical infrastructure, industrial, mining, or government facilities.
  • CPR, First Aid, or other emergency response certifications.
  • Experience operating CCTV, access control, and alarm monitoring systems.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to patrol indoor and outdoor areas in varying weather conditions.
  • Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb stairs, bend, kneel, and respond quickly during emergencies.
  • Maintain physical fitness necessary to perform essential job functions.
