Job Title: Certified Network Security Engineer.

Location: Annapolis, MD (Hybrid)

We are currently seeking candidates who meet the following qualification

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Associate Degree in an Information Technology (IT)-related field, as recognized by the AOC.
  • Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) in either Enterprise or Security track

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten (10) years of technical experience in IT networking and network security within the continental United States (CONUS).
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an IT-related field, as determined by the AOC.
  • Prisma Certified Cloud Security Engineer (PCCSE) from Palo Alto Networks
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) in Enterprise Infrastructure or Security
  • At least five (5) years of experience with:
  • Palo Alto Networks next-generation firewall solutions
  • Intrusion Detection and Prevention using Palo Alto technologies
  • Content Filtering via Palo Alto solutions
  • VPN implementation using Palo Alto systems
  • Data Loss Prevention strategies
  • TLS/SSL traffic inspection
  • At least four (4) years of experience in complex Cisco network environments, including switching, routing, and wireless technologies.
  • At least three (3) years of experience working with A10 Networks for reverse proxying and load balancing.
  • At least two (2) years of experience with Network Access Control solutions, including Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), FreeRADIUS, and Access Control Lists (ACLs).
  • Implementing Microsoft-based multifactor authentication solutions

  • 802.1x authentication for wired and wireless networks
  • Scalable routing protocols such as EIGRP, OSPF, and BGP
  • Micro-segmentation in enterprise data centers
  • Certificate management and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI)
  • Vulnerability assessment tools (e.g., Nessus, NMAP) and working with Windows, Unix, and Linux environments
  • Protocol and packet analysis tools including Opnet, Riverbed, Wireshark, and network taps
  • Centralized network management tools such as Panorama and SolarWinds
  • Major server and desktop operating systems and related utilities
  • Work independently, troubleshoot complex issues, and mentor junior staff
  • Communicate effectively through presentations
  • Create clear and concise technical documentation including network diagrams, design plans, project schedules, and user guides

Responsibilities:

  • Proactively identifying organizational needs and assisting in the design and implementation of network solutions.
  • Leading or supporting project-based engineering, design, installation, and troubleshooting of data security networks.
  • Delivering assessments, designs, and implementation of secure data networking environments.
  • Developing detailed design documentation (both graphical and textual) and managing the implementation process from design to final acceptance.
  • Supporting internal teams with capacity planning, performance monitoring, and secure network review.
  • Leading or assisting migration efforts from legacy network security platforms to modern, next-generation solutions.
  • Collaborating with network engineers to troubleshoot complex issues or respond to security threats.
  • Working closely with engineering teams to implement configuration standards, change management, and operational procedures.
  • Coordinating and guiding team members in resolving end-user issues promptly and accurately.
  • Producing weekly status reports highlighting project progress, milestones, and completed tasks.
