Job description

This position is part of the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Human Resources Directorate.Qualifications:You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Planned and executed long-term agency-wide goals for position management, directing strategic classification services to restructure major organizational components and align workforce capabilities with mission requirements.
  • Oversaw and managed the comprehensive, multi-directorate position classification program, ensuring policy compliance and program integrity across all organizational levels.
  • Analyzed complex agency-wide classification data to spot emerging workforce trends, proactively designing and implementing strategic interventions to resolve systemic structural issues.
  • Served as the technical authority on exceptionally difficult and controversial federal classification cases, interpreting ambiguous federal guidelines to provide definitive, final determinations.
You may qualify at the GS-12, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
A. One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service:
  • Evaluated and adjudicated highly complex position descriptions independently, determining correct occupational series, titles, and grades in strict compliance with OPM standards.
  • Maintained the integrity of the agency's classification database, conducting regular audits of classification actions to ensure operational consistency and system accuracy.
  • Provided expert advice and technical consultation to servicing HR teams and hiring managers to resolve individual classification questions and clarify requirements.
  • Interpreted federal regulations and OPM guidelines, applying a solid understanding of federal position structures to resolve standard-to-complex classification disputes.
