Job description

Overview: Swank Construction Company is looking for a Equipment Operator to join our Milling Division
Key Responsibilities:
  • Ability to operate or learn to operate a Rota-Mill.
  • Maintenance of milling equipment & machinery, which includes checking fluids, changing teeth, and washing the machine.
  • Keeps job site clean of all unused/waste materials and ensures all equipment is stored in a safe and secure manner.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure the practice of safety standards in accordance with company policies and OSHA.
  • Perform all other tasks and follow instructions as directed by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional technical training in mechanics, equipment maintenance, or related fields preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License
  • 18 Years of Age or Older
  • Must be available to work varied shifts (days, nights, weekends)
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods of time.
  • Must be in a union or willing to join a union
  • Valid driver's license
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Willing and able to obtain and maintain a Swank Driver File, including a PennDOT Medical Examiner's Certificate (Medical Card)
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, MVR check, and background check

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Class A or B CDL with Tanker Endorsement
  • Prior experience as a heavy equipment operator or other relevant experience

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
  • Will frequently be exposed to risk of accident and/or unpleasant elements (e.g., extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, loud noises, heights, uneven work surfaces, and hazardous substances).
  • Will be required to lift, push, pull, and carry heavy items and materials.
  • Ability to stand, sit, walk, climb, bend, stoop, kneel, and crawl for extended periods or when needed.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in, and understand, English.
  • Required to utilize personal protective equipment (e.g., hard hat, safety glasses & boots) at appropriate times.
