Job Title: Level 2 Hollow Fiber Operator

Job Description

This role operates a variety of manual machines and performs detailed, multi-step assembly processes for hollow fiber filters in a temperature-controlled, non-cleanroom environment. You will work at process-oriented workstations, follow process sheets, and complete quality checks using microscopes, measuring tools, and small hand tools while collaborating in small teams.

Responsibilities

• Operate various manual machines in the hollow fiber line, including loading parts, setting up programs, and running production according to established procedures.
• Perform detailed, multi-step assembly processes for filter components using small hand tools, tweezers, and other basic equipment.
• Read and follow process sheets accurately, ensuring each step is completed in the correct sequence and documented as required.
• Conduct quality checks using microscopes and measuring tools to verify that parts meet specifications and quality standards.
• Work in the wrapping area to run wrapper machines, including setup, adjustments, and ongoing quality checks during operation.
• Use basic mechanical aptitude and hand dexterity to handle small components and perform precise assembly tasks.
• Maintain accurate documentation of production activities, including recording measurements, process steps, and any deviations.
• Collaborate with a team of 1–2 colleagues at each station to complete daily production goals and support a smooth workflow.
• Stand for up to 12 hours while working at assigned stations and consistently perform repetitive tasks safely and efficiently.
• Lift and move materials and components weighing up to 20 pounds as part of daily production activities.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of tools and equipment, and maintain a clean and organized workstation.
• Assist with basic testing and other process-related tasks in the non-cleanroom area as needed.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of manufacturing experience.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills to interpret process sheets and complete documentation.
• Experience reading from process sheets and performing related documentation tasks.
• Ability to consistently lift up to 20 pounds throughout the shift.
• Ability to stand for 12-hour shifts while performing repetitive tasks.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and strong hand dexterity for working with small components.
• Experience using small tools such as hand tools, tweezers, and basic measuring devices.
• Comfort working with microscopes and measurement tools for quality checks.
• Ability to communicate effectively in a production environment, including reading and writing for work instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in assembly, medical assembly, or similar hands-on production roles.
• Experience with machine operation in a manufacturing or process-oriented environment.
• Prior work involving cashier, stocking, packaging, or general labor tasks that required attention to detail and reliability.
• Familiarity with process-oriented workstations and multi-step production processes.
• Ability to work effectively in small teams and follow structured workflows.

Work Environment

You will work in a non-cleanroom, temperature-controlled, and regulated production area focused on process-oriented workstations. The role involves hands-on mechanical tasks, testing, and other manual processes using small hand tools, tweezers, microscopes, and measuring tools. Work is performed primarily at fixed stations and requires standing for 12-hour periods and regularly lifting up to 20 pounds. The weekend shift runs from 5:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Friday through Sunday, with initial training on first shift for 2–4 weeks. The standard first shift schedule is 5:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with Friday typically used for overtime. The environment emphasizes safety, precision, and teamwork in a structured manufacturing setting.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of White Bear Lake, MN.

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $24.00/hr.
