Volunteer Services Coordinator

AmeriCorps National members serve the community in direct service and capacity building activities.
What will you do?
The volunteer services coordinator helps recruit, train, schedule and recognize volunteers while growing the volunteer base and advancing individual and group partnerships. Market within the community to recruit new volunteers. Develop new events and opportunities for volunteers to engage with the mission of Habitat for Humanity.

• Typically serve Tuesday - Saturday on the build site.
• Recruit and schedule volunteers for construction, office, ReStore, deconstruction, family services and special events opportunities.
• Assist with all aspects of volunteer management including orientations, maintenance of database, volunteer tracking and follow-up.
• Work with construction staff to ensure successful volunteer build days - signing volunteers in, providing orientation and safety briefings, helping put away tools with volunteers at the end of the day and ordering necessary volunteer supplies.
• Develop and/or revise volunteer recruitment, management and recognition tools.

This position will focus on home construction aspects of Habitat affiliate operations.

Activities and attractions: Our affiliate is located in Longmont, Colorado, along the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. The region offers scenic mountain views, abundant outdoor recreation, and a welcoming community. Local highlights include breweries, restaurants, farms, and a vibrant downtown. Nearby attractions such as Rocky Mountain National Park, Estes Park, Boulder, the University of Colorado Boulder, and Pearl Street Mall provide additional activities. Residents enjoy hiking, biking, camping, fishing, and wildlife viewing. Denver, located about an hour away, features professional sports, museums, concerts, cultural attractions, and Red Rocks Amphitheater. In winter, skiing, snowboarding, and other mountain activities are available.
In addition to the AmeriCorps living allowance and Segal Education Award, we offer affordable, below-market housing in a fully furnished five-bedroom home shared with other AmeriCorps members.
Unique projects: The AmeriCorps National Construction Crew Leader will provide direct, hands-on service at our Rogers Road development, a new nine-home affordable housing community in Longmont. The members will participate in all phases of construction, including site preparation, framing, interior work, landscaping, and completion, offering the opportunity to witness the growth of individual homes and the entire neighborhood during the service term. The member may also serve at our Estes Park construction project, gaining experience with unique weather, terrain, logistics, and housing needs in a mountain community. As schedules allow, the member may assist with critical home repair projects throughout our service area. A unique aspect of this position is leading volunteers from diverse backgrounds and varying levels of construction experience. The member will work alongside corporate and faith-based groups, partner families, Collegiate Challenge teams, AmeriCorps NCCC teams, and individual community volunteers. The member may also support special initiatives such as Women Build, Veterans Build, Pride Build, faith-community builds, Major annual events, Grants and unique funding opportunities, Advancing Black Homeownership, Certificates and training programs, Affiliate Support Organization / National affiliate conferences. Through this direct service, the member will gain hands-on residential construction experience and develop skills in safety, volunteer leadership, communication, teamwork, and problem solving.
When will you serve?
Start dates are flexible and based on this location's availability. Talk to the hiring manager for this position about start dates during your interview process. The start date will be 4-6 weeks from receiving an offer and no earlier than September 2026.

Minimum Requirements
Applicants must be a U.S. citizen, national or lawful permanent resident at least 18 or older and have a high school diploma or GED.
