Job Summary

The Steel Plant Administrative Coordinator supports daily plant operations through inventory tracking, purchasing coordination, and production support. This role plays a key part in ensuring materials are available and production schedules run smoothly by maintaining accurate data and facilitating communication between departments.

This is a hands-on, detail-driven position requiring strong Excel skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Due to the day-to-day contact with co-workers this position is required to work in person on-site.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance; report to work on time.
  • Provide excellent customer service and reflect our company's core values at all times.
  • Act as a central point of coordination between the steel plant and yard operations, ensuring timely and accurate communication to support production and delivery schedules
  • Coordinate steel orders by reviewing weekly production schedules, tracking material needs, and ensuring availability for upcoming jobs
  • Maintain accurate daily data entry of trim cut sheets in Sage and prepare quarterly trim inventory adjustments
  • Schedule and coordinate trim production to align with operational needs and timelines
  • Maintain and update Connex system data, including order processing information and coil inventory projections, to support production planning
  • Manage coil purchasing from designated vendors, including order placement, tracking, and follow-up as needed
  • Assist steel plant laborers as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Complies with QSI policies and procedures.

Requirements:

Education and/or Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (required)
  • Experience in inventory, purchasing, or operations support preferred but not required
  • QSI provides on-the-job training

  • Ability to perform tasks accurately, effectively, and on time
  • Ability to function in a fast-paced, changing environment
  • Must be able to multitask, possess positive communication skills, and be solution-oriented

Weight & Lift Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry office supplies, packages, and light equipment as required

Benefits Offered

  • Paid vacation: 84.5 hours annually, accruing each pay period after two full weeks of employment
  • Paid sick leave: 16 hours annually, prorated for new employees
