Job Summary: 

Responsible for managing accounting and purchasing functions, including processing requisitions for office and plant supplies, receiving purchase orders, and handling supplier invoice processing. Maintains and updates records for all hourly-level Human Resources activities, such as onboarding new hires and temporary employees, weekly payroll processing, and daily reporting of required HR data. Prepares and documents month-end inventory records, including updates to the Financial Trends and Highlights report, and participation in monthly financial reviews with the Plant Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate daily shipping operations including preparing trips, picking and grouping orders, managing gate passes, and recording freight costs in Excel.
  • Reserve and unreserve lots tied to customer orders.
  • Review and close batch details for order processing.
  • Serve as backup support for steel receiving, including receiving coils from purchase orders and managing slit orders in Oracle.
  • Assist the HR Generalist with employee relations, FMLA tracking, and Workers Compensation claims.
  • Engage with hourly employees, review and approve weekly timecards, and notify payroll of any adjustments.
  • Ensure timely and accurate approval of hourly payroll prior to Paycom submission.
  • Maintain up-to-date personnel files and manage reporting of hourly rate changes, job descriptions, and other employment updates.
  • Track and post attendance records, manage the Point System, and monitor safety shoe reimbursements.
  • Oversee weekly union-related deductions (dues, benefits) and update union reports on the CSJB website, ensuring timely monthly payments.
  • Communicate with CSJB regarding qualifying events or changes in hourly employee status.
  • Post weekly union schedules per contract requirements and track weekly headcount for hourly and salaried staff in InfoZone.
  • Manage petty cash, including transaction tracking and account reconciliation.
  • Monitor and record company credit card purchases.
  • Provide monthly reporting for Fairbury’s headcount and hourly hours, post the monthly seniority list, and process perfect attendance incentives.
  • Provide backup coverage for Traffic Coordinator and Production Coordinator
  • Assist with miscellaneous tasks, issues, and projects as they arise across departments.
